Since its launch in 2015, the voxel graphics sandbox MMO Trove has amassed over 28 million players worldwide on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. Now, developer Gamigo and publisher Trion Worlds aim to expand that audience with a global launch on Nintendo Switch.

Trove has received pretty consistent updates from developers since launch, including brand new classes, new content, and even a whole new game mode in the Delves expansion. However, it’s the emphasis on community content that really sets Trive apart from the crowd – players can create their own items, weapons, dungeons and more, then submit them to be added to the game for use by all. players. This high level of customization also allows players to develop unique new worlds – while most are random, private worlds can be completely designed and customized by their owners. However, it’s not just about crafting – there’s also mining here! Trove supports a wide range of different playstyles, so if you’re not the most avid craftsman, you can dash into the depths of your world’s dark dungeons to prove your might and claim the mighty armors and weapons there.

By bringing Trove to the Nintendo Switch, the developers of the Gamigo port are giving gamers a unique experience – Trove on the go! Gamigo is committed to keeping the Nintendo Switch up-to-date with the regular release of new content. Hopefully the Bard class will be one of the first features added – the class is available on PC, but hasn’t made it to other console ports yet.

In a statement on the port, Gamigo said, “Trove prides itself on its dedicated community and gamer-focused content. The MMO offers a dynamic game world that supports endless creativity, and the Nintendo Switch is the perfect platform to take Trove, and its fans, to a whole new level of creativity and collaboration.

Trove is now available for free on the Nintendo eStore.
