Remember that Marvel MMORPG we discovered was recently cancelled? Well, now we can see what we’re missing thanks to new screenshots uploaded to an artist’s portfolio on ArtStation.

Ramiro Galan – a lead designer at Pixelkings – has shared a handful of never-before-seen images on their digital portfolio, showing what appears to be the canceled game’s character creation screen.

“Here is a series of styles and screens from Ramiro Galan for a canceled Marvel MMO title,” the album description tells us. “The focus was on rich, vibrant colors with stylistic tones that pay homage to Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse. All design, 3D materials, lighting and post-processing effects were done by Ramiro Gallan.”

Screenshots show that the game planned to give players four factions to choose from – X-Men, SHIELD, Avengers and the Fantastic Four – and offered stylized graphics and a “rich and vibrant” color scheme.

Enad Global 7 (EG7) announced the cancellation of Daybreak Games’ Marvel MMORPG a few days ago, stating that “based on reassessment of development risk profile, investment size and strategy long-term product portfolio for the group, the board decided to change development priorities and reallocate resources within the group to focus on alternative long-term projects.

As Victoria summed up to us at the time, EG7 further revealed that they originally planned to invest over SEK500m (£40m) in the project over the next few years, but that he will now use these funds to diversify investments “on several smaller projects”. within the band”, including upgrades to The Lord of the Rings Online and DC Universe Online, as well as other “original first-party IPs”.

EG7 said it doesn’t believe halting development on the Marvel Project will impact its “near to medium-term revenue and profits.”

Daybreak Games already had another hit at a Marvel MMORPG a few years ago, before its cancellation caused layoffs in late 2018.
