Riot Gameplay Design Director Scruffy set to join League MMO team as Game Director

After spending more than eight years working on League of LegendsPopular Rioter and Director of Gameplay Design Mark “Scruffy” Yetter has announced that he will be leaving the MOBA team to become Riot Games’ new upcoming game director. League MMOs.

Scruffy will join the former League game designer Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street on the new game project, though they’re still figuring out the details of his transition between games. His replacement as Director of Gameplay Design has not yet been announced either.

“Personally, working on League for the past 8 years has been the honor of my life,” Scruffy said. “The talented development team and passionate gamers like you have been instrumental in building and improving my favorite game. I’ve enjoyed every day so far and can’t wait for our next great adventure. together.

Scruffy became known among League community as one of the most engaging staff when it comes to championing ideas and details. He regularly tweets patch previews to show off future changes coming to the game, while also getting feedback from the general player base.

Additionally, Scruffy regularly posts a developer blog called Quick Gameplay Thoughts for League where he gives a good overview of some of the decisions that lead to why certain champions are changed, why certain roles are prioritized over others, and other topics of interest.

His most recent development blog was about the upcoming gameplay updates the team was planning for the coming months, including the latest Rammus update, the addition of a new tank element, and a new enchanter element in the works.
