PSVR2 revelation, Harry Potter MMO canceled

It’s a new year, with lots of games, movies and more. Although the industry doesn’t really start to emerge until later this month, gamers are excited to be on the horizon. This week, Cameron and Anthony talk about some of the best games they closed out 2021 with, as well as the biggest news of recent days.

To kick things off, PlayStation revealed PSVR2, though it might take a bit of convincing to get more players involved. The helmet looks promising, though it’s unclear if it solves the biggest complaints fans have about the original. Namely, the first iteration had a lot of cables and an extra box to plug into, which is part of why it didn’t make much of an impact.

Then Ken Levine’s next game is stuck in development hell according to a new report. Developers working alongside Levine have complained about his directing style, stating that his ideas are often difficult to recreate due to poor communication. Editor Take-Two reportedly gave Levine a lot of freedom, which could go against the project.

In other news, the days gone by The director said the game sold over 8 million sets, but was treated as a failure by Sony, although Ghost of Tsushima reached similar numbers and was well regarded. However, more information has been revealed and the director’s figures may not be accurate.

Finally, Riot Games settled a $100 million sexual harassment lawsuit, setting a new precedent for future lawsuits. Additionally, EA canceled a Harry Potter MMO that looked pretty promising.
