Every week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMOs, so you don’t have to. This week we got news of several in-game and out-of-game events for September, Got my first hands-on look at Cinderstone Online, and the first of the month-end development updates has arrived. There’s a lot of other stuff going on as well, so let’s stop wasting time and get started with this week’s MMO Indie Spotlight.
There have been new additions to the ether story team and a recent post from Henry (the creator of ether story) shows that there are still a few vacancies.
A new thumbnail has been posted on BitCraft Twitter this week. The image is of the Claim Totem, an item that will restrict building rights in a certain area. It’s a simple addition that will help those who don’t understand how cooperative play works.

Might & Delight has implemented a new Google Form in hopes of learning the kinds of stories the community likes in their games. Tech Blog 15 was also posted on the BoT Steam page.
The It’s Raining Chests event will run throughout September. Every weekend, from Friday 8:00 PM CEST to Sunday 8:00 PM CEST, players must collect keys from defeated Andayan invaders to unlock supply chests that they teleport to the region. Good hunt.
A two-week event, Explore Chimeraland’s Ocean, started this week. This is your chance to win some rubies, CD keys, and maybe sage, not to mention some promotion for this awesome indie MMO.
cinderstone online The open beta is live. Head to the Cinderstone Steam page to join before the end of the beta on September 8.
The Cycle: Frontier
In a blog post this week, Yager shared an updated roadmap for The Cycle: Frontier. Although part of the release is for the upcoming Season 2, the roadmap also includes updates for Season 3 and beyond.
With the beta ending in less than a month, Novaquark is hosting two special events, Build Your Legacy and Ammo Madness, to celebrate the “end of the world”.
The Spire Daily Boost was removed on September 1. You can check out the v29 patch notes for the new Spire Vault Boost and other changes being implemented this month.
Ethyrial: Echoes of Old
The core team is now working full time on Ethyrianand a new monthly Devlog shares the progress they’ve made on Vocations.
The Farwoods the server is now running 24/7. The developers will continue to run weekly test sessions to ensure that players can always have a set time to find other players online.
