Every week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMOs, so you don’t have to. This week, past fate has Alpha issues, dual universe gets a release date, and you won’t catch them all (or get a refund) in Wild islands. There’s a lot of other stuff going on as well, so let’s stop wasting time and get started with this week’s MMO Indie Spotlight.

This week’s new dev blog focuses on the story in Travelogue. While staying true to their original design idea of not holding the player’s hand too much, the team hopes to add more story and lore by adding new item descriptions, encounters, and events. There is also a new Tech blog entry (#13) for all budding coders. Finally, the developers also ask player feedback on the combat systemso be sure to tell them what you like and what you don’t BoT fight.
There is an ongoing Twitch Drop event until September 1st. You can get 1000 crows for watching a drop-enabled streamer for 30 minutes, then 50 sages at 1, 2, and 3 hours. There is also a 7-day login event until August 25th. Just when you thought chimeraland It couldn’t get any weirder, logging in daily will earn you a piece of a dinosaur costume. chimeraland also just launched its latest update, The Tyrant’s Attackwhich adds more fearsome dinos to the fray.
It has been several months since we heard from cinderstone online Codevision developer, so it’s nice to see that they had a developer stream this week. Most of the work required for the open beta is complete, with only side quests and the overall Fallowglen quest unfinished (as well as the endless quest to squash bugs). On Monday, August 22, there will be another stream on the Cinderstone Twitch Channelwhere they’ll show another dungeon, discuss the siege system, and end with a special announcement.
The Cycle: Frontier
Patch 1.5.0 went live on Wednesday. You can get the full patch notes here. A live stream scheduled for Monday, August 22 will kick off a four-day Twitch Drop event.
It’s official. It was announced this week that dual universe would be launched on September 27. And in case you have any lingering questions about the launch, Ask Aphelia #13 covers many questions from the community and is available on YouTube.
fractured online will enter Early Access September 15. There will be a server cleanup before the start of Early Access to give all players a level playing field. LoA The Gen Zero mint sale was on Thursday. The 250-character NFTs sold out quickly at the original price of 1.75 SOL (about $64), and some are already back for resale on Fractal up to 100 SOL.
Jandisoft hosted an AMA on Reddit this week, and those questions were answered. You can find those answers here. Jandi has also reopened sales of the Mad World Founders Pack with an additional item – the Test Pass. The Test Pass grants founders access to all future tests, including the upcoming closed beta test which will run from September 15-21.
Legacy of the Mist
Patch 0.1.24.0 was released this week. The most notable change in the patch notes is the addition of the buy-to-market option, allowing players to place orders for other players to fulfill.
The World of the Realmwalkers, the first installment in the new Nightingale Journals video series, delves into the backstory of the upcoming co-op survival game. It was after the announcement that Nightingale would join the 2022 list of delays.
After a delay due to the Steam review process, the past fate Open Alpha went live on Wednesday. You can download test client on the PF Steam page. As fate would have it (see what I did there?), the initial build had a few fatal error crashes, prompting the team to extend the Alpha by seven days.

The Lurking and Slurping prologue season is over and developer BetaDwarf is ask your opinion. If you missed this season, you don’t have long to wait for another chance to check it out F4E project. Players will have access to the new Frost Ranger class when the next season, Path of Wrath, begins on September 8.

RetroMMO celebrated its 2nd birthday on August 14. To celebrate, a small content patch will run until January 1st. This is also the expected timeframe for the complete reconstruction of RetroMMO to complete.

Early Access version 911 (updated 17.8.2022) is live. There’s no need to send you to a long patch note page because the list is quite small. Ten of the most common crashes have been fixed and corrupted lunar data has been removed. Short and sweet.

Phat Loot Studios announced this week that development on wild islands had been paused. With the October 6, 2022 release date announced on August 1, it’s somewhat surprising to learn that development has been put on hold due to a lack of funding. Minor patch 1.1.8 was released on Monday, adding bHaptics suit integration (and some other stuff too) to Zenith: The Last City. RamenVR has partnered with bHaptics to offer a Zenith game key and a TactSuit X40 haptic vest to celebrate.
