Warframe developer Digital Extremes hosted their TennoCon 2022 live stream today on their Twitch channel. Today’s main focus is on detailing new content coming soon for players who play it regularly, and today there’s a ton of new content being showcased. Let’s break down the most critical information, starting with The Duviri Paradox.
The Duviri Paradox is set to release this winter and comes with a new open-world location, known as Duviri. Players can control The Drifter, a returning character from last year’s The New War quest, and gain access to a Kaithe, a new horse-like mount available to players in the quest.
Duviri Paradox’s opening mission tasks players with taking control of The Drifter and escaping your execution, then escaping Duviri. The expansion also features rogue-like elements, where during a daily session you can choose one of three decrees that grant you various buffs while in Duviri.
Second, the game’s 36th Prime Warframe will also be added, known as Khora Prime. Khora Prime will also release two new Prime weapons, Hystrix Prime and Dual Keres Prime. Adding Khora Prime to the game also means that a new Prime Access pack will be released (and Garuda Prime Access will be removed from the store). The Khora Prime Access Pack includes:
- Khora Prime (Playable Warframe)
- Venari Prime (faithful companion of Khora Prime)
- Hystrix Prime, which is a secondary weapon that lets you change its damage type at will
- Dual Keres Prime, which is a dual weapon melee weapon
- Platinum (in-game currency)
- an affinity booster
- a resource booster
- and two cosmetics for Khora Prime
- an alternative Khora Prime helmet
- a Khora Prime syandana.
A new cosmetic set for Titania (and later Titania Prime) was also revealed, the Deluxe v2, or Dornann Set. This comes with a skin that can be equipped on Titania (and Titania Prime), as well as cosmetics for her Razorwing weapons, the Dex Pixia, and Diwata. This new cosmetic set is now available in the cosmetic shop.
Ahead, the Warframe Art Panel also revealed a future Warframe, designed in collaboration with Joe Madureira (better known as Joe Mad), known for his work on comics like Uncanny X-Men and his own comic drawn Battle Chasers. This Warframe has a werewolf motif and will not be the Next Warframe. He will come to the game for sure, though.
Crossplay is also another hot topic for Warframe, and players will be able to see it happen as Community Testing opens soon. That said, when these cross-stress tests are done, cross-save should follow, and then finally, mobile versions might follow as well.
Moving on, Nightwave, the game’s battle pass system, will update Nora’s Mix Vol.2. Players can unlock new cosmetics for their Operator, which you can see above. Nightwave is a program that allows you to complete challenges to unlock levels, which give you valuable items like Umbra Formas, Orokin Catalysts, Orokin Reactors, powerful Mods, and more.
Next up is a trailer for Veilbreaker, a new expansion for Warframe, which is set to release before The Duviri Paradox. This expansion lets you play as Kahl again, and it’s a Grineer Lancer that was originally playable in The New War quest. Veilbreaker has a full trailer to watch below.
An addendum to the Veilbreaker trailer is that Styanax, the game’s 50th unique Warframe, was teased here, and Digital Extremes should release a short film about him closer to Veilbreaker’s release date.
To wrap up TennoCon 2022, Digital Extremes announced that the team will also be working on a brand new game called Soulframe. It’s less of a sequel and more of a sister project to Warframe. Warframe will still emphasize cooperative player versus environment combat and procedurally generated environments, but it will be “the mirror universe version of Warframe.”
Soulframe development is overseen by former Warframe director Steve Sinclair. As it transitions to the new game, longtime face of the development team, Rebb Ford, takes over the sci-fi epic as the new creative director. She has already been in this role for quite some time. Soulframe received a five-minute trailer, which you can watch below.
Warframe is available to download now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and its own download client.
